eduroam wireless setup guide for Windows 7
 
A.   Creating the network profile
 
1. Click the Start Menu à Click “Network”
 


2. Click “Network and Sharing Center”



3. Click “Manage Wireless Networks”



4. Click “Add” then click “Manually Create a Network Profile”





5. Configure the settings as per below:



6. Click “Finish”. You should get the following message window



B. Setting up Security Settings

1. Click “Change Connection Settings”



2. Make sure the connection settings are configured as per below:



Click the Security tab and Uncheck “Remember my credentials for this connection each time I’m logged in”



3. Click “Settings”
4. Check “Enable Fast Reconnect”



5. Make sure that “Validate server certificate” is unchecked



6. Click “Configure”
7. Uncheck “Automatically use my Windows login name and password (and domain if any)”



8. Click OK for all three opened windows
9. Click on the wireless icon in the system tray and select the ‘eduroam’ wireless network as shown.







10. Enter your username and password when prompted.



Enter username as your username@universitydomain.edu.xx & password as your existing University Domain password.



Windows 7 will try connecting to eduroam using the provided credentials.



Once a successful connection has been established, the wireless icon will show steady signal strength in the system tray with a ‘Connected’ status in the wireless menu.
